On April 6, 2017, a Public Hearing was conducted at the Banning City council chambers during a regular meeting of the Banning USD Board of Education. Engie representatives and District Counsel answered Board questions, there were three public comments, and Resolution 16-17-12 was approved, adopting a Photovoltaic Solar contract for Design, Installation, Operation and Maintenance of Solar Systems at selected District sites.
 
May 18, 2017, Engie received a Notice to Proceed on all projects (including Prop 39 projects). Ground mount solar installation at Cabazon is complete and live; ground mount installation at Coombs is complete and awaiting City approval to go live; solar shade shelters at Central, Hoffer and Hemmerling Elementaries are installed and awaiting City inspection. DSA plans for Nicolet Middle School have been submitted to DSA for approval, and Banning High School plans will be submitted as soon as the plans for the Career Tech Ed facilities are approved by DSA.
