Community Engagement

Community Engagement Services serves as a central connection point between the District, families, and the broader community. Through intentional outreach, strategic initiatives, and meaningful partnerships, this service area is designed to foster a strong sense of belonging and shared purpose across all schools. By creating opportunities for engagement, collaboration, and communication, Community Engagement Services supports student success by ensuring families and community members are informed, involved, and empowered as active participants in the educational experience.

Our Areas of Focus

The Communications Department leverages a variety of platforms to ensure clear, consistent, and engaging communication with students, families, staff, and the broader community. These tools help foster transparency, strengthen connections, and share the incredible stories and initiatives from across the District.

Districtwide Community Engagement Events

Community Engagement Services leads the planning and implementation of Districtwide events that bring students, families, staff, and community members together. These events create welcoming and inclusive spaces that celebrate learning, highlight District programs, and strengthen connections across the community. Each event is designed to increase participation, build relationships, and promote a unified District identity.

Community Partnerships

Community Engagement Services actively develops and maintains partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and agencies to expand opportunities for students and families. These partnerships enhance District programs, provide access to valuable resources, and strengthen the connection between schools and the community. Through these efforts, the District is better positioned to support the success and well-being of all students.

Community Engagement Collaborative

The Community Engagement Collaborative is a network of District and school site representatives working together to strengthen engagement practices across all schools. Through collaboration, shared strategies, and aligned efforts, the Collaborative supports consistent communication, increases family participation, and ensures engagement efforts are intentional, data-informed, and impactful.

Community Engagement Initiative

The Community Engagement Initiative is a strategic effort developed in partnership with the California Collaborative for Educational Excellence (CCEE) and grounded in the District’s System of Supports. This work focuses on strengthening family and community involvement through aligned practices, targeted actions, and continuous improvement.

Through this Initiative, schools are supported in building meaningful, consistent opportunities for engagement that elevate community voice, expand participation, and strengthen relationships. By integrating engagement into the broader System of Supports, the District ensures that family and community involvement is directly connected to student success, school improvement efforts, and overall District priorities.

Community Engagement Services hosts and supports a variety of events throughout the year designed to connect students, families, staff, and community members. These events provide meaningful opportunities to engage with the District, access resources, celebrate student learning, and build strong relationships across our community.
