Report a Safety Concern

The WeTip Anonymous Reporting System provides a safe and confidential way for students, parents/guardians, staff, and community members to report concerns that may affect the safety and well-being of our schools.

Reports can be submitted 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year using any of the methods below.

Emergency: If there is an immediate threat to life or safety, call 9-1-1 immediately.

Reportable Concerns

If you see or hear something that could impact the safety of our students, staff, or schools, report it through the WeTip Anonymous Reporting System.

Examples include:

• Threats of violence
• Weapons on campus
• Bullying
• Cyberbullying
• Harassment
• Discrimination
• Self-harm or suicide concerns
• Physical abuse
• Sexual misconduct
• Drug or alcohol activity
• Vandalism
• Theft
• Suspicious behavior
• Campus safety concerns
• Any activity that could place students or staff at risk

If you are unsure whether a situation should be reported, it is always better to submit a tip. District administrators will review the information and determine the appropriate response.

How the WeTip Anonymous Reporting System Works

Every report submitted through the WeTip Anonymous Reporting System is handled with care and confidentiality.

Step 1

Submit your tip by text, phone, or online.

Step 2

Your report is received by the WeTip Anonymous Reporting System.

Step 3

The information is forwarded to the appropriate Banning Unified School District administrator or law enforcement agency when necessary.

Step 4

District staff review the information and take appropriate action based on the circumstances.

To help investigators respond effectively, please include as much information as possible, such as:

• Who was involved
• What happened
• When it happened
• Where it happened
• Names of witnesses, if known
• Photos, screenshots, or other supporting information, if available

Providing detailed information helps the District investigate concerns more efficiently.

Your Privacy Matters

The WeTip Anonymous Reporting System is designed to protect your identity.

You are not required to provide your:

• Name
• Phone number
• Email address
• School
• Personal identifying information

Anonymous reporting encourages students, parents/guardians, staff, and community members to speak up when they have concerns about school safety.

Although reports are anonymous, providing accurate and detailed information greatly improves the District's ability to investigate and respond appropriately.

Every report is treated seriously and reviewed by the appropriate personnel.

Know When to Call 9-1-1

The WeTip Anonymous Reporting System is intended for non-emergency safety concerns.

Call 9-1-1 immediately if:

• Someone is in immediate danger.
• A crime is actively occurring.
• A weapon is being used or displayed.
• There is an active threat to a school.
• Someone requires immediate medical assistance.
• There is an immediate threat to life or safety.

Use WeTip when:

• You want to anonymously report a concern.
• The situation is not an immediate emergency.
• You are concerned about the safety or well-being of a student or staff member.
• You have information that may help prevent future harm.

If you are ever unsure whether a situation is an emergency, contact 9-1-1 immediately.

Employee Complaint Process

The WeTip Anonymous Reporting System is not intended for employee-related complaints or workplace concerns.

Current Banning Unified School District employees who wish to file a complaint regarding employment matters, workplace issues, or personnel concerns should contact the Human Resources Department.

Employees are required to complete an Employee Complaint Form, which is available through the Human Resources Department at the District Office.

Please Note: Safety concerns involving an immediate threat to students, staff, or school property should still be reported through the WeTip Anonymous Reporting System or by calling 9-1-1 if the situation is an emergency.
