Banning Unified School District’s new and returning students made their way onto campuses bedecked in welcome banners, photo backdrops and streamers on Aug. 4, where teachers, principals and staff greeted them with excitement for the 2022-23 school year.
July was a busy month for Banning Unified, as we focused on preparing for the 2022-23 school year by holding school registration days, a leadership symposium, new teacher orientation and launching this year’s theme, “The Time is Now.”
With a theme of “The Time is Now,” Banning Unified School District prepared for the 2022-23 school year with a leadership symposium for top administrators on July 21, led by Superintendent Terrence Davis. The symposium emphasized the District’s goals of working collectively to support students, staff and families.
Looking to develop leadership, networking and academic skills, more than a dozen Banning High School and Nicolet Middle School student cadets joined with their peers from across the state to participate in the 2022 California Cadet Corps Summer Encampment, held June 18-30 at Camp San Luis Obispo.
Hoffer Elementary School’s Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) program boasts a comprehensive, high-level curriculum that has contributed to the school’s recent classification as a Nationally Certified STEM School by the National Institute for STEM Education (NISE).
Banning High School incoming sophomore and first-year art student Trinity Scholer is one of 18 high school students honored in the Riverside County Office of Education’s second annual Fine Arts Spectacular Showcase, where her original artwork is on display as part of a virtual exhibit centered on the theme “What Matters.”
To ensure Banning Unified School District meets the needs of students, families and staff consistent with the District’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), the District is seeking input on the proposed 2022-23 LCAP and Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) budget that was formed based on a recent community survey.
Banning Unified School District is offering a variety of programs and services to ensure children ages 18 and under are well-fed, highly engaged and continuing to learn throughout the summer.
