Leslie Sattler, Trustee
Leslie Sattler has served in education for many years, taking on a variety of roles before becoming a teacher and trustee. Over the years, Sattler has taught preschool and worked as an instructional aide in a one-room schoolhouse. She has also taught classes as a student teacher, substitute teacher, and credentialed teacher.
Before she joined Banning Unified, Sattler received a $20,000 Governor’s Teaching Fellowship to help her earn a teaching credential from the University of Redlands. She then taught in Banning Unified for 15 years before retiring in 2018.
Sattler started her time in the district as a language arts, science, and history teacher at Nicolet Middle School. She also taught Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID), a nationally recognized college and career readiness program. She finished her career as a first-grade teacher at Cabazon Elementary School. She is now a member of the California Retired Teachers Association.
