About the Principal
Johnny Baker was born and raised in Banning, California, and is a graduate of Banning High School. Upon His graduation in 1996, he went on to attend Quincy University in Quincy, Illinois, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Upon completion of his degree in 2001, he accepted a football coaching position at Quincy University from 2000-2003. Over those three years, he held the positions of Secondary coach and one year as the Defensive Coordinator.
In 2003, Mr. Baker moved back to California and began substitute teaching in the Banning Unified School District. Since his hire in 2003 at Banning Unified School District, Mr. Baker has held the position of Opportunity teacher working with a grade-level span of 1st grade through 6th grade, 2nd-grade teacher, and 4th-grade teacher. He received his MA in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, in 2009.
Mr. Baker has committed to serve the students of his community of Banning, California. His goals are to help the students in his community realize their dreams and assist them in making good life choices, achieving their highest academic success, and realizing their goals are attainable through hard work and dedication. He wants to provide support to his staff, students, and community members to ensure that the Banning Unified School Districts Mission of collaboration to develop responsible, respectful, prepared students to achieve their full potential.
