Board Vacancy – Trustee Area #2

Applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Be a resident within Banning Unified School District and within Trustee Area #2
• Be a registered voter
• Be a citizen of California

After the application deadline:

• The District will verify candidate eligibility
• A list of qualified applicants will be prepared
• Qualified applicants will be invited to interview at a public Board meeting

The Board of Trustees will conduct interviews and make an appointment on June 10, 2026.

• Application Period Opens: May 4, 2026
• Application Deadline: May 18, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
• Eligibility Verification: May 19 – May 29, 2026
• Interviews: June 10, 2026 (Public Board Meeting)
• Board Appointment: June 10, 2026

To be considered, applicants must submit:

• A completed application form
• Responses to application questions, including:
  • Interest in serving as a Board member
  • Understanding of governance and confidentiality (Brown Act)
  • Community involvement and experience
  • Alignment with District goals
  • Areas of expertise
• Three (3) letters of reference

Applicants will also be required to:

• Acknowledge the time commitment of Board service
• Confirm understanding that application materials may be subject to public disclosure
