This email is to inform you of the new communication platform for Banning USD. Your Rooms account will allow you to communicate with your child’s teachers. If you have not already done so, please check your email for a message labeled Banning Unified School District is inviting you to claim your Rooms account and activate your account. Below is a sample of the email that was sent. If you need assistance activating your account, you can reach out to Anna Torres at Education Services (951) 922-0218 or you can come by this week during the office hours listed below. Education Services is located at 1151 W. Wilson Street. It is the building located behind New Horizon High School.

Congratulations to the Banning High School Student Athletes of the Week Ne Ne Suun Malone & Grace Eckman! Ne Ne Suun and Grace are Girls Doubles Tennis players. Coach Kline mentioned, "Both are first year players. Moved into the varsity lineup last week as a doubles team, swept all of their doubles matches against Yucca Valley last week." Banning HS Game of the Week for this week is Boys Water Polo at the San G Boys Water Polo Tournament. They will compete on Friday, 9/22 at Arroyo Valley HS at 2:50pm and 4:30pm. See you there! #BanningUSD

We would like to inform you that we are now using the Banning Unified School District app for teachers, parents and students to communicate. In the next few days, you should be receiving an invitation in your email to set up a guardian account. In the invitation it will provide step by step instructions to create an account. Meet Jose Sandoval, Teacher at Banning High School. His feature was submitted by his colleague Svetlana Abdulkarim. She says, " Jose Sandoval is a physics teacher with the Academy of Business. He does a lot of community service that benefits the high school and Banning. I've also seen him cleaning up our campus with 2 students. I enjoy working with him because he cares about our students and is supportive of their connections to the community." 💚💚 #BanningUSD


Student Services would like to invite all parents to join us for an Attendance Presentation presented by Deputy District Attorney Kelly Sedochenkoff on September 20th at 4:00 P.M. She will be sharing how important it is for your child to attend school every day. Hope to see all of you there!



During the Board Meeting last night, the Cadet Corps students did a wonderful job leading the pledge of allegiance and presenting the colors at the start of the meeting. We had student presentations from Camila Samaniego, Cabazon Elementary School, Rose Yang, Nicolet Middle School, Daniel Martinez Jr., Coombs Alternative Education and Chloe Dabucon Banning High School. Each student did a great job updating the community on current events on their campuses. #BanningUSD






Congratulations to the following leadership team appointees from last night's Board of Education meeting:
Dr. Cami Thomas - Dr. Thomas spent 1 year with the Chino Valley Unified School District as a French Teacher. She then moved on to spend 7 years with Azusa Unified School District as a French Teacher and CAS Coordinator. Dr. Thomas also worked for Rialto Unified School District as a French Teacher and BARR Coordinator. Most recently, Dr. Thomas has served as the Assistant Principal for Nicolet Middle School.Dr. Thomas earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in French from the University of California, Riverside. She then went on to earn her Master of Arts in Education from Azusa Pacific University. Dr. Thomas culminated her studies by earning her Doctor of Education Degree from The University of Southern California. Dr. Thomas was appointed as the Principal of Nicolet Middle School.
Terry Ware - Mr. Ware is a veteran of the United States Army, where he served his country for 7 years. Mr. Ware has over 17 years of experience in the Information Technology field and has been with the Banning Unified School District since 2016 where he has served as a Technology Technician.
Mr. Ware is a Banning High School graduate, Class of '99! He then went on to earn his Associates Degree in Computer Electronics Engineering from the School of Electronics. He also earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems Security from ITT Technical Institute. Mr. Ware was appointed as Systems Engineer for Banning Unified School District.

Congratulations to the Banning High School Student Athlete of the Week Daniel Perez! Daniel is a Senior at Banning HS and a member of the Cross Country team. Coach De La Rosa mentioned, "Daniel Perez was the first Banning runner to cross the finish line on Saturday. Leading his team to a 3rd place finish in the Jr/Sr race. He also placed 4th overall out of 210 athletes."
